DevonIT VDI Blaster certified for View 4
Devon IT today announced that their VDI Blaster is certified for VMware View 4 now. VDI Blaster is a solution which repurposes PC’s and turns them into thin clients. Companies can download VDI Blaster to their PC’s with USB key or via network install.
View 4 Zero Client comparison (German)
The German language blog www.vireference.de published an article which compares the three different kinds of Teradici hardware zero clients for VMware View. The main devices are: Class 1 (eVGA, Leadtek, Wyse P20), Class 2 (DevonIT, Verari) and Class 3 (Samsung thin client monitors). Fujitsu produces zero-client monitor for VDI
Fujitsu teamed-up with the hardware vendor PanoLogic to deliver a zero client monitor device for desktop virtualization. The companies will produce a client device which contains connectors for network, keyboard and mouse.
Devon IT Releases Version 1.1 of VDI Blaster Software
Back in August 2009 Devon IT released the VDI Blaster software to help companies to repurpose personal computers into thin clients. The new version 1.1 now supports VMware View 4 and the PC-over-IP (PCoIP) protocol which gives users a true PC like experience, including multimedia. The new version also includes the ability to boot the VDI blaster software from a USB key or a CD-ROM in addition to the network installation.
