Teradici Arch Enables High Performance & Security in Microsoft RDS Environments

without comments

The baby finally got a name: Teradici Arch! Teradici’s PCoIP solution for RDSH gets into the first preview stage as of an article in the CIO magazine.

IDG News Service (London Bureau) — Teradici has been forced to delay the release of Arch, which combines VMware and Microsoft server-based desktops using its PCoIP protocol, due to a scalability issue. But a new tech preview will still allow enterprises to familiarize themselves with the product.

Today, PC-over-IP (PCoIP) is used to improve the performance of multimedia and other graphics-heavy applications on VMware’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.

Teradici’s Arch was previously known as Remote Desktop Services Host. The platform allows enterprises to combine VMware View and Microsoft RDS desktops and have the same performance levels across both types of desktops. The first version was supposed to have shipped in December, but the company was forced to delay the launch because of a scalability issue related to VMware View, which results in only 45 sessions per virtual server.

What’s New for RDSH Published Desktops: A Close Look at Published Desktops Delivered Through PCoIP®

without comments

Back in August at VMworld 2012 in San Francisco, Teradici has announced a new product bringing the power of PCoIP to Microsofts Terminal Server. In fact it is a competitive solution to Citrix XenApp, brokered by VMware View.

Teradici has recorded a webinar about their new RDSH solution which is now available on their website.

Watch this webinar to learn how you can unify your mixed VDI and published desktop environments using PCoIP, simplifying network configuration and standardizing end point devices to meet expectations for lower TCO and improved end user experience.

The new product offers:

  • Unifies mixed deployments under one protocol to simplify network configuration
  • Opens up the PCoIP ecosystem of zero client endpoints
  • Allows users to access their RDSH desktop over the WAN

At VMworld Europe in Barcelona I had the chance to get a Live Demo of Teradici’s new solution and I was really impressed about it. If you didn’t read my article, here’s the link:

The following link will take you to the Teradici website where you can register for the webinar.

On the Teradici website it still says that the RDSH solution is coming in Q4/2012 so stay tuned. If you want to learn more about it please feel free to visit this link.
