View Composer 2.0 on x64 Windows

On the VMware forums some people report issues during the database setup for View Composer 2.0 when using teh component on a x64 Windows operating system. The installation drops a message saying: Database not found. User vBaw now posted a workaround which helps to install the Composer on a x64 vCenter Server.

VMware CVP Video from the French VMUG

Back in September 2009 VMware already demoed the Client Virtualization Platform (CVP) at VMworld in San Francisco. The CVP will extend the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure to mobile users, running their desktop operating systems directly on the virtualization layer without need for a host operating system like Windows. There is a new video which shows CVP running on a DELL laptop at the French VMware User Group.

VMware ThinApp 4.04 released

Today VMware also announced a new version of ThinApp. The new maintenance release offers a German and Japanese ThinApp user guide, Journaling support for the virtual registry and resolves several issues with virtualized applications.

VMware announces View 4
